Den kits and pathways
Our fantastic Park Makers have continued their work to transform the first of our opportunity areas, by the River Nene - creating den building kits, bug hotels and pathways.
Several well-trodden pathways were already present in the wood but were incredibly overgrown. We've trimmed those back and, thanks to our licenced chainsaw operator, we chopped up fallen trees and branches from the winter storms to line two main pathways - allowing people to enjoy the area near the river (which is beautiful) and protecting the rest of the area for nature to thrive.

They also collected and trimmed fallen branches to create den kits and build more bug hotels and hideaways for small mammals.

Huge thanks to the fantastic team of 25 Park Maker volunteers for another epic session.
